Celebrating your success at the CHKS Top Hospital Awards 2008
The 2008 CHKS Top Hospital Awards broke with tradition and came to London's Tate Britain for an altogether different event. Together with the awe-inspiring venue, we introduced six new national awards for Patient Safety, Quality of Care, Data Quality and Quality Improvement, as well as celebrating the success of the CHKS 40Top Hospitals and the Most Improved CHKS Top Hospital.

Competition drives quality in healthcare? Debating the future of the NHS
An invigorating change to this year's Top Hospitals event was the world-class CHKS Debate. Chaired by Niall Dickson, King's Fund Chief Executive, leading policy-makers, academics and front-line healthcare executives debated the motion: "This house believes that a state-run healthcare system can no longer meet the needs of the population and that greater competition will improve the quality of care and thus secure its future".

The experts included Frank Dobson, Nick Bosanquet, Mark Adams and Calum Paton.

A ground-breaking new programme for realising the benefits of the consultant contract
Developed with considerable involvement from consultants and medical directors, and commended by the National Audit Office, the Clinician Level Indicator Programme (CLIP) is the first programme of its kind to combine patient-level data, outcomes and individual consultant feedback. CLIP will give you the crucial evidence base to understand and demonstrate the value of the consultant contract, as well as the data-driven feedback mechanism to effectively manage consultant performance and productivity.
