LATEST NEWS: Growth in admissions puts spotlight on local NHS
CHKS researchers have found that there was a 6.0 per cent growth in emergency and elective admissions in the year to March 2009 and that the growth varies from PCT to PCT by as much as 28 per cent.

The implications for local NHS are significant particularly as PCTs are facing a funding squeeze.
